|
.... thanks for the listens, much appreciated.
Debbie, point taken, but it's not a dramatic song, it's pretty cool and a bit sardonic, so we don't want high emotion in the chorus.
Paul, we record everything at my place on 16-track digital equipment. We've just been signed by a small independent label, and we're hoping that they will fund an upgrade to 32-track, this is the one we want .....
Chris, glad you enjoyed it. This is just a rough mix, so there's still a bit of work to do on everything. I've gone for a wide pan on the backing vocals, so they need to be pulled together and evened up with some careful EQ, reverb and limiting.

.... on this one are all programmed because it's a fairly simple drum part. For more complicated ones we use hybrid real/programmed drumming.
Which studio are you going into?

... the Cluny is good, Tony the engineer down there put the PRS/MCPS tunecodes on our new master a couple of days ago. They've got new Mackie/Protools gear, and Tony has a decent pair of ears.

... glad you like it.
I agree, the piano and sax are a bit dry, I'll sort that out plus other problems on the final mix.
How's it going, anyway?
