You have obviously read this thread, but not understood a single word. Tragic, isn't it?

Hmmm, I can't tell which response I should pay more attention to, the explanation or the suggestion?

nope not true. maNY PEOPLE CHOOSE TO NOT HAVE HEALTH CAre (oops dam caps key) because they know by federal law anyone insured or not can walk into an emergency room at any hospital and the hospital has to treat them. not only that, but ambulance rides are free so if someone does not have a car and does not want to pay for a taxi they cak diall 911 on their phone and the ambulance will/has to take them to a hospital for free medical treetment.

not exactly but in a way yes. there is a law that says an emergency room in a hospital can not turn someone away for being uninsured and some people use it as a loop hole to save ins. costs.

I happen to be Canadian and you should make sure your info is accurate before making statements about our health system. Yes, I agree it isn't perfect, but NOONE waits a year for a mamogram - I waited 4 days. In addition, I have a son who has special needs and within less than a week of referral he had speech therapy, occupational therapy, and assistant in the class room and an assessment by a peadiatrician and a psychologist. ALL of which was covered by our..what did you call it? Disaster of a health care system.
You bloody americans should do your homework before popping off.
