Holly and Ritchie Valens died in the plane crash...
It was an interesting trip.
Here I am at the crash site where their plane crashed on 2/3/1959 with some Buddy Holly-ish glasses someone left at the memorial.
I have more pics, if anyone is interested..
Here I am at First Avenue, Minneapolis, the club featured in Purple Rain.

facebook rules! Much more three dimensional than bulletin boards, although bulletin boards have their place of course. I love Taco Stand!
However I only visit bb around 2~3 times a week, I check into my facebook all through the day... every day.... _________________ http://undergroundhk.com

I admit I haven't given it half a chance. I've been feeling rather anti-social lately.
2 dimensions is all I can handle right now.

totally understand. Its been really handy fo rme to promote shows and just drop people a message or comment on their photos or their status - keeps me friendly with people without having to actually see them.... _________________ http://undergroundhk.com

yes thats true, nice to see new pics of your friends and what they are up to when one has time, without the stress of answering emails - you know those ones that sit in your mail box and you think... when I have time... or maybe that's ust me!?!?! _________________ http://undergroundhk.com

No, It's not just you. I understand you completely.
Sometimes I let everthing go to voicemail or my answering service because I don't feel like talking to anyone.
I'm sorry I brought this thread so off-topic bye the way... _________________ STEVE IANNETTI |

I am almost always invisable on line if it's an option and I have never used any IM application.
I want to be in control of when I engage in conversation.

me too. I dont have msn or yahoo messenger, and I'm invisible on my skype and mostly use it to send a message to Shaun or a guy who I do some part time work for. I hate being interrupted!!! _________________ http://undergroundhk.com

Hey there, Master, long time no see (I been "away").
So you were in my neck of the woods, eh?
First Avenue used to the old Greyhound company's bus depot, when the depot moved it became a club called "The Depot" which became "Uncle Sam's", then just "Sam's" before the current name.
The scene isn't quite dead there yet, but it's certainly not as it was in the Prince era. But like Clearwater, it is rock and roll history.
You could have "revisted" Highway 61 and gone north to Hibbing, Minnesota - Bob Dylan's hometown - for some more rock hostory. He's a cottage industry there. There's even a restaurant called "Zimmy's" where you can chow down on menu items like the "Hard Rain Hamburger". (No, I'm not kidding). |
