It is encouraging to read this and to hope more good Muslim folks (especially leaders) step forward to denounce & help clean up the mess that Islamo-fascism has caused. This is a excellent first step by good people who have seen their beliefs hijacked and muddied by those intent on evil.
Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'

We Are So Sorry for 9-11
This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.
After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and “intellectuals” blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and “steal” Iraqi oil.
After numerous admissions of guilt by Bin Laden and numerous corroborating admissions by captured top level Al-Qaida operatives, we wonder, does the Muslim leadership have the dignity and courage to apologize for 9-11?
If not 9-11, will we apologize for the murder of school children in Russia?
If not Russia, will we apologize for the train bombings in Madrid, Spain?
If not Spain, will we apologize for suicide bombings in buses, restaurants and other public places?
If not suicide bombings, will we apologize for the barbaric beheadings of human beings?
If not beheadings, will we apologize for the rape and murder of thousands of innocent people in Darfour?
If not Darfour, will we apologize for the blowing up of two Russian planes by Muslim women?
What will we apologize for?
What will it take for Muslims to realize that those who commit mass murder in the name of Islam are not just a few fringe elements?
What will it take for Muslims to realize that we are facing a crisis that is more deadly than the Aids epidemic?
What will it take for Muslims to realize that there is a large evil movement that is turning what was a peaceful religion into a cult?
Will Muslims wake up before it is too late? Or will we continue blaming the Jews and an imaginary Jewish conspiracy? The blaming of all Muslim problems on Jews is a cancer that is destroying Muslim society from within and it must stop.
Muslims must look inward and put a stop to many of our religious leaders who spend most of their sermons teaching hatred, intolerance and violent jihad. We should not be afraid to admit that as Muslims we have a problem with violent extremism. We should not be afraid to admit that so many of our religious leaders belong behind bars and not behind a pulpit.
Only moderate Muslims can challenge and defeat extremist Muslims. We can no longer afford to be silent. If we remain silent to the extremism within our community then we should not expect anyone to listen to us when we complain of stereotyping and discrimination by non-Muslims; we should not be surprised when the world treats all of us as terrorists; we should not be surprised when we are profiled at airports.
Simply put, not only do Muslims need to join the war against terror, we need to take the lead in this war.
As to apologizing, we will no longer wait for our religious leaders and “intellectuals” to do the right thing. Instead, we will start by apologizing for 9-11.
We are so sorry that 3000 people were murdered in our name. We will never forget the sight of people jumping from two of the highest buildings in the world hoping against hope that if they moved their arms fast enough that they may fly and survive a certain death from burning.
We are sorry for blaming 9-11 on a Jewish or right wing conspiracy.
We are so sorry for the murder of more than three hundred school children and adults in Russia.
We are so sorry for the murder of train passengers in Spain.
We are so sorry for all the victims of suicide bombings. We are so sorry for the beheadings, abductions, rapes, violent Jihad and all the atrocities committed by Muslims around the world.
We are so sorry for a religious education that raised killers rather than train people to do good in the world. We are sorry that we did not take the time to teach our children tolerance and respect for other people.
We are so sorry for not rising up against the dictators who have ruled the Muslim world for decades.
We are so sorry for allowing corruption to spread so fast and so deep in the Muslim world that many of our youth lost hope.
We are so sorry for allowing our religious leaders to relegate women to the status of forth class citizens at best and sub-humans at worse.
We are so sorry.

Your welcome, Seismo - that is a great pic.
Especially after the Russia school slaughter it seems more Muslims are willing to come out and denounce the garbage who hide in their religious ranks. This piece was written by Abdel Rahman al-Rashed who's the manager of a worldwide Arabic media outlet, Al-Arabiya News Channel. It's pretty amazing:
'Innocent religion is now a message of hate'
(Filed: 05/09/2004)
It is a certain fact that not all Muslims are terrorists, but it is equally certain, and exceptionally painful, that almost all terrorists are Muslims.
The hostage-takers of children in Beslan, North Ossetia, were Muslims. The other hostage-takers and subsequent murderers of the Nepalese chefs and workers in Iraq were also Muslims. Those involved in rape and murder in Darfur, Sudan, are Muslims, with other Muslims chosen to be their victims.
Those responsible for the attacks on residential towers in Riyadh and Khobar were Muslims. The two women who crashed two airliners last week were also Muslims.
Bin Laden is a Muslim. The majority of those who manned the suicide bombings against buses, vehicles, schools, houses and buildings, all over the world, were Muslim.
What a pathetic record. What an abominable "achievement". Does all this tell us anything about ourselves, our societies and our culture?
These images, when put together, or taken separately, are shameful and degrading. But let us start with putting an end to a history of denial. Let us acknowledge their reality, instead of denying them and seeking to justify them with sound and fury signifying nothing.
For it would be easy to cure ourselves if we realise the seriousness of our sickness. Self-cure starts with self-realisation and confession. We should then run after our terrorist sons, in the full knowledge that they are the sour grapes of a deformed culture.
Let us listen to Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the Sheikh - the Qatar-based radical Egyptian cleric - and hear him recite his "fatwa" about the religious permissibility of killing civilian Americans in Iraq. Let us contemplate the incident of this religious Sheikh allowing, nay even calling for, the murder of civilians.
This ailing Sheikh, in his last days, with two daughters studying in "infidel" Britain, soliciting children to kill innocent civilians.
How could this Sheikh face the mother of the youthful Nick Berg, who was slaughtered in Iraq because he wanted to build communication towers in that ravished country? How can we believe him when he tells us that Islam is the religion of mercy and peace while he is turning it into a religion of blood and slaughter?
In a different era, we used to consider the extremists, with nationalist or Leftist leanings, a menace and a source of corruption because of their adoption of violence as a means of discourse and their involvement in murder as an easy shortcut to their objectives.
At that time, the mosque used to be a haven, and the voice of religion used to be that of peace and reconciliation. Religious sermons were warm behests for a moral order and an ethical life.
Then came the Neo-Muslims. An innocent and benevolent religion, whose verses prohibit the felling of trees in the absence of urgent necessity, that calls murder the most heinous of crimes, that says explicitly that if you kill one person you have killed humanity as a whole, has been turned into a global message of hate and a universal war cry.
We can't call those who take schoolchildren as hostages our own.
We cannot tolerate in our midst those who abduct journalists, murder civilians, explode buses; we cannot accept them as related to us, whatever the sufferings they claim to justify their criminal deeds. These are the people who have smeared Islam and stained its image.
We cannot clear our names unless we own up to the shameful fact that terrorism has become an Islamic enterprise; an almost exclusive monopoly, implemented by Muslim men and women.
We cannot redeem our extremist youths, who commit all these heinous crimes, without confronting the Sheikhs who thought it ennobling to re-invent themselves as revolutionary ideologues, sending other people's sons and daughters to certain death, while sending their own children to European and American schools and colleges.
Abdel Rahman al-Rashed is general manager of Al- Arabiya news channel. Yesterday, his article appeared in the pan-Arabic newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.

This is good to hear. Now some much needed healing can begin...assuming this is not a hoax of some sort. I choose to believe that it is not a hoax as I have no evidence to the contrary. With that in mind, reading this tells me that there is hope for all this to come to a peaceful end at some point in the future. Bravo the Free Muslims!

Quote: Are you mad?
Hahaha!! Yes, I'm MAD, INSANE!!! - MAD, I tell you!!! MUAWHAHAAA!!! HARRRAAAGHH!!
Sorry, just had to have a little fun there!
Let's see, AAChris, you asked:
Quote: Lost their lives in the first battle of the war against terrorism? You mean the ones who lost their lives in the Twin Towers?
Actually in the first battle - which was the in NYC, Twin Towers, under 3000 lost their lives. It was a battle lost by a civilized nation due to a "sneak (surprise) attack", like when Pearl Harbor was attacked in 1941 was the first battle of WWII. The 2nd battle was the hijacked plane hitting the Pentagon in Washington, DC. where several hundred more lost there lives. That battle was also lost because it was another a "sneak attack".
But the third battle was a victory by Americans for civilized and brave people everywhere. The third battle ended in a cornfield in the state of Pennsylvania. When Americans on Flight 97 used their cellphones to learn that the other hijacked planes had been used against Americans as missles, they had a chance to do what those in NY and Washington, DC were not able to do. They fought, and forced the Islamists to crash the hijacked plane in an empty field. Because they had knowledge of what evil the Islamists planned to do, the passengers bravery and sacrifice saved the Capitol or the White House from being hit. So, Americans won that battle.
To win a war, you lose some battles. And you lose decent and brave people. American don't like wars or battles any more than anyone else. But when people pull us into a war, we fight hard.
Quote: you have forgotten that the nearly 3000 people where not only Americans but from countries from all over the world.
Nope, I said 3000 lives were lost, AAChris. Did I give a list by gender, race, religion, nationality, etc? But if you want a list of who died and where they died, HERE'S a list for you.
But you are right, Chris - Islamo-facist terrorism isn't a war just on Americans. Other nations will be forced into the War On Terrorism. It doesn't matter if they don't want to because the Islamists will give them no choice - it's surrender or be killed (beheaded, children butchered in schools. subways, planes, transportation bombed).
Quote: Get lost with your flag and search for a "planet earth" one.
As I said, it's the civilized world against 7th century barbaric Islamist terrorists. That is "planet earth" one, if you mean a world united against Terrorism.
So about the flag, you are welcome and invited to post a pic of Austrian soldiers standing to spell the words "Amerika, erinnern uns wir an 9-11, auch!" and they should proudly display the Austrian flag. I would salute them for that.
As you said, it wasn't just Americans who were attacked and killed, it is all civilized people who suffer from those evil actions.
Quote: If you want a picture I think nearly everyone can stand to, here is one (its from this year and it also has US flags but there they really belong):
That is a nice picture and a very good thought, Chris. One of my relatives is a policeman in NYC. America's police, firefighters and the rescue workers do great work every day. They are remarkable! (In the US those type of workers are often called "first responders" and "emergency personnel".)
But the picture isn't the right - in what we're talking about here - for one big reason.
It's better if Islamist Terrorists are stopped before they even start to plan to attack. That way there is no need for ambulances, police and firetrucks after an attack. Trying to prevent that from happening is the job of the military of every civilized country on earth.

Oh, Yeah, DT - if you check out their site you'll see they are serious & legit Muslim people who are doing something that calls for a good amount of personal bravery. Some goofy "religious leader" could put out a hit ("fatwah") on them just for saying such things.
Most Muslims are just like everyone else; they want to go about their lives in peace - working, raising kids, having fun - just average people stuff.
The term "Islamist" is the word I use to differentiate Muslims from the Sharia-law, theocracy types, terrorists and like assorted thugs.
The piece written by the editor of the Islamic paper/media is pretty amazing too. I hope he has good bodyguards!
