Most of this stuff is way too funny to be taken seriously.
Pat Robertson saying that the feminist movement is about leaving husbands, killing children, and becoming a lesbian is just hilarious.

I dunno about all of what Pat Robertson said, but take a look at the stats and anecdotal evidence. The numbers of bisexual women in the younger generations are on the rise big-time. That plus other factors makes want to annotate what Robertson said to read: "not getting married, not having children, and becoming lesbian". Time will tell.

The funny part isn't about lesbians.
Feminists since the beginning of the movement has wanted equality. Even in America there is still a wage disparity for women doing the exact same job as men. That's absolutely pathetic. And if women don't want to get married and don't want to have children, that is not a sin, it is a right, just like it is for men. That's why Pat Robertson is an idiot and quite funny. He thinks that men are superior (wrong), that women are merely breeding factories (wrong), that women who are independent must be lesbians (wrong), and that a woman without a man is a threat to his beliefs (wrong again).
Simpy put, the vast majority of those statements on that site are made by lunatics (Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Ann Coulter, Gary Bauer, Fred Phelps, Paul Cameron, are all absolutely unhinged). There are a few from more mainstream people but those aren't the really goofy ones.
Christianity is not a state religion and never will be no matter how loud the lunatics get. I am not afraid.

Feminists wanted equality, yes...not just equal rights, but equality. Since men are not the same as women, that seriously IS crazy. An apple will never be an orange no matter how hard it tries.
As for Pat Robertson, he sounds like a man with an opinion on something...same as you, NRK. His is no less valid than yours, right? (Note that I don't believe this to be true...but according to your logic in your last post, this would have to be true!)

I'm not sure what you mean about 'equality' being impossible since men and women are biologically different.
Are you saying that socially and economically it is impossible for equality because of our gender differences?
And Pat Robertson is entitled to believe whatever he likes and he can express that, but it doesn't make him any less crazy.

I'm not saying it's impossible...just less desireable in most all ways when you compare the practicle results of doing such a thing, or not. Men are better equiped, mentally and physically, for certain things...as are women for others. To deny this is, in most people's opinion, to deny the obvious. Up until recently, there was no scientific proof of the mental differences between men and women...and yet most people understood there was a different through simple anecdotal evidence and observation. Today we have the proof. But there will always be those who deny the obvious because it conflicts with their own personal ideals.
It makes the most sense for men and women to do what they are best at doing...and most people, historically, naturally do this. But when people can be made to be unhappy with who they are, you can artificially change this...and they will search to be something else. Take it one step further by making it socially acceptable to do/be what is unnatural, and you have opened a Pandora's box. This, because if you cannot eliminate the true source of the problem...the cause of the unhappiness and unrest...it will not stop there. And then, down the slippery moral slope we slide...

Now I'm starting to understand why the lunatics are still in the public eye.
I don't disagree that men and women are different.
But when that is used to justify inequality, it's just sad.
Women, like men, can choose to be and do whatever they like and in the course of those decisions, they should be treated fairly and equally and with respect.
Please make sense of your statement for me. Who is more suited to being Secretary of State, Colin Powell or Condaleeza Rice? And if there is that much evidence to show that men and women have different strengths, why not just attach gender to employment, meaning women are better or men are better at foreign policy negotiation and just leave it at that?

If you substitute "gays and straights" for "men and women" the above observation is equally valid.
