tell me, how badly have these hit your monthly budgets around the world?

If they keep going up we're going to start feeling the pain in consumer goods too... I don't own a car, but transport is definitely going to be hit. Ugh.

Yeah, I drive a Toyota 4-cylinder truck...bought it last year as I saw this one coming. I pay about the same as Rev. But what is a budget? You have to have money before you can have one of those! The sting at the gas pump is the obvious effect...but the indirect effect will take longer to show and to be realized by all. It hasn't really hit us yet. Give it few years, though...I may have to take a second job!

I drive 50.000 km every year, my wife drive about 25.000 km a year.
It's annoying, though I believe it will hit the national economic growth a lot worse than it will hit me.

we live in HK, where distances are small and public transport is cheap and fantastic. However, consumer goods are not cheap, and that will rise as it gets more expensive to bring them in - HK imports almost everything.
Also, we travel a lot here and airfares are going to go crazy. I have at least two personal trips planned by the end of the year and I am sure I am going to be mad as hell when it comes time to pay for the tickets.
I wish research on alternative fuels comes up with something feasible pretty damn soon.
