.... Ron and his neo-con spam-gang would call it a day and the board could return to some sensible discussion.
Not so. Give these idiots an inch and they'll take a mile. They are mindless, uncritical propagandists.

No more cartoon pictures, seismo.
It makes you look like a stupid kid unable to use words.

You're quite on target, SA. But as has been noted, for Steve everything is framed within the context of explosive personal emotional issues - a problem I sincerely hope Steve would seek some guidance to address. Concern for his well-being, not anger at the antics is what's called for here.
I think most of us who are not new to the internet have seen many instances of people who frequently lose their control - constant ventings, going on spamming & flaming sprees, then running off ("An' I ain't coming back ever, never, ever again - really") as other's eye's just roll around. But when more problems arise in their personal life, they again have the urge to vent their frustrations. So they swing back to a familiar routine.
That's not a dig at Steve at all: I don't believe he is a bad guy; just very usually irrational when faced with the fact of a diversity of views. It would seem that Steve desperately seeks approval and affirmation to confirm he is one of the intellectual elite. The problem is the emotionalism and that desperate need itself proves to be a self-imposed roadblock in leaving any such an impression.
Steve also seems quite uncomfortable in being in such a singular situation: note the ploy to drag Debbie into his issues. Unless I'm mistaken, he's issued more than one demand that she follow off after any one of Steve's given embarrassing tantrums.
But Debbie has impressed me as someone who makes up her own mind and who can do it very well on her own, thank you. Though she may very strongly believe someone's viewpoint to be wrong (or right), Debbie doesn't confuse her sense of self-worth with other's disgreeing with her own viewpoint. Debbie can be quite the fiesty & stubborn debater (unlike me, hahaha!), but she doesn't to go off the deep end as a usual course of action. We all have our moments, but those are the exceptions; they should not be the rule.
And from what I know of Debbie, she'll have at it tooth and nail, but has never expressed the notion that those who disagree with her should be censored.
So, while to say that I feel sorry for Steve may sound patronizing, it is my honest reaction to any person who feels a need to carry on in such a manner. But in the end, he has to make his own choices and decide how to act & react. Taking that ultimate & core personal responsibility is incumbent on everyone.

.... please stop trying to pathologize me. It's pathetic and tranparent. You know you're arguments are weak so you try to denigrate your opponent. Scheming politicians do this all the time, and US right-wingers use this technique when trying to denigrate the UN.
You have neither the intelligence nor the qualifications to stand in judgement over me. At the moment, unless you broaden your intellectual horizons, you have a medium-to-low grade mind, and that's a dispassionate professional judgement.
You are a right-wing neo-con apologist. Your posts are one-dimensional propaganda. Your creed is deadly and dangerous, and responsible for over 40 million deaths since 1948. That's fact, and can be arrived at dispassionately.
You look very foolish in the eyes of intelligent people, and you will look even more foolish in the future when history judges you.

Seismo, by the way, I'm not going to Nashville because my department can't afford that and the British and European conferences as well. Nashville is expensive, and the quality of the papers, with a few notable exceptions, looked low this year. That's all there is to it.
Could readers please note how this person consistently posts misinformation on this board?
