UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- Facing strong opposition, the United States announced Wednesday it was dropping a resolution seeking a new exemption for American peacekeepers from international prosecution for war crimes.
Now we just have to get some of the other hold-outs to join in. Until they all do, the UN will not have the teeth it needs to be anything more than a paper tiger.

Agreed.
AND because of this, I saw on CNN tonight a U.S. UN spokesman saying that, in future requests for UN troop contributions from the US, this would definitely have an influence on the decision of how many troops, if any, would be contributed. Also, that UN funding from the US will probably be cut soon.
Great as far as I'm concerned...I'm for getting out altogether anyway.
The place is a joke; total waste of American taxpayer's (my) money.
