Unfortunately, behavior itself catergorizes people.

When someone talks about their wife/husband, girl/boyfriend, they are proclaiming a certain sexuality. Sex/sexuality is not something that is secret as a general rule. In order for it to be a secret, you really have to make an effort to not let people know. Seriously, the response to a man saying: 'I went skiing this weekend with my boyfriend', will nearly always be, 'You're gay?'. That's life.

How can anyone presume to have any right to control the private sexuality of consenting adults?

And as far as the "religious" aspect of sex? I think that's a private matter between the individual and God.

And while I don't feel that condoning same-sex marriages is conducive to the overall health of society, I wouldn't put up any real opposition....

If you want to have a "same-sex" union of sorts that is recognized by the government for whatever purpose its intent is, that's fine with me. Just don't call it a marriage...because it is not.

I do not think the "God" argument is justified because that is strictly a matter of personal belief.......I, like Chris, have many friends who are gay and are very happy and do not want to block their happiness just like my choice should not be intepreted in any other way aside from my happiness.......The fear and problems I believe will arise is 2 fold...

1) The perception that children will have pertaining to relationships and life choices saying it is acceptable when the majority of the planet thinks it is wrong and people are hated and discriminated just for the fact they are gay (hard enough growing up as it is for kids now) and

2) This will open up pandoras box on numerous legal issues dealing with taxes and deductions and child expense and what you can claim and can't claim......#2 is the issue where I would become much more vocal and outspoken

I did not vote in the poll because I think there should have been many other choices or at least an "other"
