Well, you really couldn't call it a "World War" until all of the countries of significant military force were in on it, now could you. Then again, as far as the French are concerned, France IS the world...so from their point of view, I suppose you are correct, Galmin.

Your historybooks probably tell you that WWI started on March 18, 1917.

It depends on what nation you are from. For America WWII started on December 7th 1941

For Poland September 1, 1939

For Britain it started on September 3, 1939

But for some anti-fascist Germans who had to live under Hitler's rule, The Second World War started for them in 1933.

galmin does have a valid point....start dates of wars are always debatable but anyway this IS WWIII....for ex. we now

have active fighting in

Taiwan, Chechnya(sp?), Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Afghanistan , Phillippines, Somalia, Indonesia, etc. etc.

I really don't believe he's a doctor. I think he gave a fake name of a doctor that he found online. HA HA HA HO

How does one qualify active fighting? Is Thailand fighting? Do people getting pissed in pubs in England and/or Korea count as fighting?

Aren't there over 200 countries in the world???
