My definition of politics goes something like: "The art of convincing others to accept what you say...lying or not."...while diplomacy is: "The process of agreeing to accept what each other says...lying or not." Whether or not it's a lie has nothing to do with anything in these arenas...and that's why I don't want to have anything to do with either one of them. If something drives you nuts, and there is nothing you can do or say to change any of it, it is best to leave it alone...in my opinion. But by accepting my definitions, I have come to an uneasy peace with these concepts...though I still want to have nothing directly to do with them. Have we been lied to by our politicians? Have you been lied to by your politicians? Does the sun rise in the morning?



...all you can do is decide for yourself what is right or wrong. The world is not ideal...nor will it ever be. The only world you can really change is the world in you. If you truly want to be happy, this is where you must eventually end up...how soon you do depends soley on you. Nobody has ever changed the world peacefully through a tirade of anger or frusteration. Was Ghandi known to be an angry or frusterated man?



Decide for yourself what is right and wrong, calmly voice your opinion if you must, then walk away. The only time I feel my feathers getting ruffled is if I begin to feel the attack is personal (which includes my country)...then I may bite back. Even at times when I know it is useless and should not waste my time. Nobody is perfect.

I guess the difference is that I cant come to terms with it and will keep bashing my head, i've just been like that with many things in my life that I think are unjust. I've never attacked the US, so dont take it so. I just loathe this current bunch because of their mission of world domination, openly stated in their website - the world is sooo much worse off because of them being in power. and if nobody protested things would NEVER change, yet we know that people CAN bring about change, even one lone person.

I think it is possible for one person to bring about change...but never with an overly emotional approach (think Ghandi again). If change is truly what you wish for, then maybe see what you need to change in your approach, first...I am not being critical of you as a person at all. My words apply equally to myself as well. We are all a work in progress. Once in awhile there is born a person who has most everything in the right place to be the one person that can make a difference. The rest of us just must accept that that person is not us...and that can be the most difficult thing to do of all.

Gandhi was quite a fanatic. He was not always the calm person everyone thought he was. He was very passionate and forthright about everything he believed it, but he was also prepared to make great sacrifices too, and THATS the bit that a lot of us aren't prepared to make.

hey, I dont know who this mc guy, but he comes across as hopelessly partisan and not particularly articulate either. If he can justify all of this stuff as somehow being worse than murder, well then... I dont know what else to say.



And jobless statistics are likely pulled from people making jobless claims. What about those that dont qualify or those that are underemployed and waiting for a proper job? Those bureau stats are likely much higher...

hmm. think he is aticulate and yes he is conservative. i have read his research papers, technical articles and am waiting on a copy ofhis just finished graduate level text book om computer security. yes the stats are higher still usa has lower unemployeement rate than most all european countries. my posting it was there is more than one issue at stake besides irqai conflict and there is no way kerry can create 10 million new jobs.
