strange as the saying goes "no good deed goes unpunished". inspite of it all when the democrats are in office they do the same things to "whistle blowers".

Quote: Administration vows cooperation in probe of intelligence leak
White House won't seek independent investigation
From Dana Bash
CNN Washington Bureau
Monday, September 29, 2003 Posted: 1925 GMT ( 3:25 AM HKT)
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House will cooperate with the Justice Department in its initial inquiry into who leaked the classified identity of a CIA operative, but will not launch an internal probe and will not ask for an independent investigation, a spokesman said Monday.
The CIA operative in question, Valerie Plame, is the wife of a former U.S. ambassador who had been critical of the Bush's administration's handling of intelligence on Iraq.
The Justice Department would not comment on whether it is looking into the case.
Former Ambassador Joe Wilson has said he believes the White House was behind the leak of the identity of his wife to newspaper columnist and CNN contributor Robert Novak as retribution for Wilson revealing flaws in pre-war intelligence that said Iraq was trying to buy uranium from Africa.
In an interview with CNN on Monday, he described the administration as "acting like schoolyard bullies, pulling the hair of a little girl."
Plame was described as a CIA employee in a July column by Novak in the Chicago Sun-Times. CNN has been unable to reach Plame.
'A dastardly act'
"The leaking of the name of a CIA [operative] is a dastardly act," Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, told CNN Monday. "It not only endangers the name of an agent who has put his or her life on the line for America, [but also] all their operatives and security ... It's a despicable thing to do. And some newspapers report that it was the White House that did it."
McClellan said that if anyone at the White House leaked Plame's identity, he should be fired, and pursued to the "fullest extent."
"No one was authorized to do this. That is simply not the way this White House operates and if someone leaked classified information it is a very serious matter," he said.

The reporter (Novak) who released the name of the CIA agent says he didn't get the name from anyone in the Bush administration.
I cannot believe what lengths Bush haters will go to to try to bring him down. I am neither a democrat or a republican, but President Bush definitely has my vote for re-election.

Novak has been saying a lot the past recent days. It is as if he cannot shut up for five minutes. He has, for instance, said that someone in the Bush administration has compromised the identity of an undercover CIA operative.
It's in the hands of the justice department now, they better get to the bottom of this.
In a country where 70% still believe (due to Cheneys propaganda) that it is verified that Saddam was behind the terrorist act of Sept. 11, even though the president had to say: "We've had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved" I have no high hopes that the truth will come out.

I do not know ONE person who believes that. What a joke. Like I said... Bush haters will do or say anything.

Larree, lots of polls have showed that many many Americans believe that Saddam was behind 9/11, regardless of what anyone says. It's what people believe, but then again people believe all kinds of things that aren't true, no matter how much evidence to the contrary exists.

interesting thing is larry was a bush hater a lifelong democrat until after 9/11 bush sends our troups over killing a bunch of arabs who were more of a threat to isreal than usa. now isreal is a safer place thanks to bush. usa is not. our borders are as open as ever. i always wondered why if the 19 jet hyjackers were from saudi arabia then we attack afganistan and iraq?
