why pay a catholic priest hard earned money to come to your house to do a cleansing ritual to get rid of the negativity of past dwellers?

holy water, insence, candle burning, bell ringing and other catholic things were taken from the locals ("pagoni" italian for country dwellers) non christians.

instead of asking for a prayer request at the wednesday night baptist prayer meeting asking the preacher and everyone.

by the way a witch is both male and female. no such thing as a warlock.

although it it much easier to show up to church on a sunday for an hopur, give some money, feel guilty for 20 minutes, as forgiveness and forget about religion /spirituality for a week.

this way organised religion controlls the masses as in dumbing down for one thing. the people could perform their own "workings" instead of giving up magick powers to a priest/pastor. so everyone "needs" him/her.

by the way did you know the most people allowed in a coven (witche's) is 13 a leader plus 12. seems jeebus knew what he was doing....

Careful, Rev9. You've made several broad-sweeping statements about religious activities that may or may not hold true, depending upon which religious beliefs you adhere to. You can't lump all Christian religions under one camp when it comes to practices. As a Christian, it is my belief that we should be focused on what we have in common and what brings us together...not what makes us different and seperates us from each other. According to Christ, acceptance of others (if not their beliefs and behaviors) is important as a Christian.

Interesting about the covens...did you know that 13 is the biblical number of chaos and is associated with the devil? Many numbers have biblical significance. 1 - creation/beginning, 4 - earthly, 5 - grace, 6 - man, 9 - judgment, etc. Did you ever think about it raining for 40 days and nights along with 40 years wondering around in the desert? It's not a coincidence.

i am not surprised about 13 being the chaotic number. however still i think it is an example of how the church (catholic) took many pagan ideas and incorporated them into to make christianity seem like paganism yet on the other hand made many things evil.

the old testament is pretty harsh on anythiing not hebrew.
