Looks like we are on our way to a recall election!
That no good Democrat bastard turned our 9 billion dollar surplus into a 34 billion dollar deficit! He should be tarred, feathered, and chased out of California by barking dogs!

yes toward the end clinton did. i do not remember the numbers. having said that the us economy is such a monter machine anything takes several years to affect it. fo example in 92 clinton's pr team came up with the slogan "it's the economy stupid" incinuating bush 1 had messed up the economy with a recession. when in fact the economy was on an up swing. clinton was elected and promptly signed something like the largest tax increase in the history of the country. higher taxes + growing ecoonomy = lots of spending that can balance the budget. then at the end of the 90s the us economy was slowing down. unemployement was starting to go up. bush was elected. bush inherited clintons problems and screw ups. clinton did not care as he was out of office and bush looks bad. gore would have done the same thing. to top it off the 911 event made it worse. people quit flying and taking trips so people in airlines and hotel industries lost their jobs. when they lost theirs' others such as mall workers lost theirs since the airlines and hotel people could not spend money at malls since they were unemployed. then mall workers lost theirs so then they could not buy new tv sets, cars, washing machines etc. so you get the picture of everything being inter related. add the 100 billion plus on iraq etc. bush cut taxes also. that was good as most of the people who got the tax cut have to spend everything just to get by, except for some saving. so with the tax cut people will be able to buy that washing machine which keeps the washing machine factory worker employed as well as the salesman at the washing machine store. they keep their jobs, they go to malls, mall workers get rehired.
also, the "dot.com" high tech industry's buble burst which helped clinton in the 90s made things more difficult for bush.
by the way, davis wasting california's surplus is not the same as bush over spending. bush is doing it to help "jump start" the econpmy and to make the world and particularly a safer place is different from california davis's wastefulness.
