It blew up my modem AND my LAN card. I re-installed a new LAN card but I'm kind of fed-up with this computer - I'm going to take it into the shop in a few hours and buy a new computer - it's about time anyways........ grrrrrrrrrrrrr



So I'll be offline for around 48 hours max. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm BACK! With a fantastic NEW computer....... And next time there's a thunderstorm I'll turn everything off - it doesn't help having a huge flagpole attracting the lightning. :aua

When a storm rolls through, I unplug totally so there's no direct "path of least resistance" via the house electrical wiring. The PC guts could still get fried by a near strike, but that helps considerably. Dababy (my chubby spoiled cat) hides under the bed until thunderstorms pass - when there's a particularly loud "CRAAACKKK!!" I'm about ready to join her. Hahaahaa!

hahahaha My dogs freak out at thunderstorms. Hendrix is the worst - she shakes like a leaf. Jimmy never used to be bothered but seems to be following her example these days!!!!! When the house got hit by lightning the other night I screamed - hahahahhahahahaa
