My dog Hendrix is in surgery right now

She's got a big lump in her throat. She's over 13 years old and I've had her since she was a puppy. The vet will call me and let me know any news. I left her with tubes all over her, she's on a drip because of her age. I am a bit upset at the moment actually. I hope she makes it thru.

Chris, I know how you feel. I love my dog very much. They're like one of the family. Will say a prayer for your doggie and you.

Thanks PANick & Shauna - she's been in surgery for over 3 hours now. I just called the vets and he is still operating on her, I guess that is good news - cause it means she must still be alive......

The vet just called. He removed one of her thyroid glands in her throat. I have to see him at 8pm tonight and discuss further. She's alive for now! I will now research on internet what this all means.....

I had dogs in India - one of em died when I was small because of cancer - we had to put him to sleep. The other one got dognapped and we never saw him again. I felt really bad, and I hope your Hendrix (cute name!) recovers.

13 is good innings, I really hope its only the thyroid.

She's weak and had to be carried home. The vet says there is now 50% chance it has/will spread to her lungs... So I must keep an eye on her. I think she'll pull thru. She seems pissed off that she can't be with Jimi (my other dog). I'm just so glad she's alive!
