Of course, after looking at the competition thread and thinking of the grand prize - the bbChris lipstick stained mirror - is cause to make me see what I can come up wih in a hurry!
But getting my guitar to sound Cantonese-y is a whole 'nother thing. It can handle it's own in Swedish well, but I only remember a smattering of Cantonese from years back (like "Nay-home-ah" - bad phoenetics there, lol) and so my guitar never learned it very well at all.....

"You can speak some Cantonese!"

LOL, just a smattering bbChris. I'm still having trouble getting English right hahaahaaa! An older bro had a friend in high school who was from HK - his original name was, like, "pu-ee-way" which became "Perry" when anglosized. He taught us a bit of Cantonese, with the most important phrase being
"t'sen-nee-cong-yat", which I hope means something remotely like "speak slower, please"??(excuse the very bad transliteration!)
Never been further east than NYC or west than LA. I'd love to see so many places - like HK - but I'd need at least 10 more lifetimes to do it!
Of course, MELVIS alone is worth a pilgrimmage to HK!!

hahaha Ron! That's a good memory you have!!!!! Yes that's right! ahhahaahhaa I challenge you to learn my 'guitar phrase' in Cantonese - you'll never know when it comes in useful! hahahahahahahahaha
Hey Hong Kong ISN'T that far away - a 2 week holiday here & into China would BLOW YOU AWAY

A visit into China would be so great! Of course, with my feelings about flying (clothed or otherwise) the proverbial "slow boat" would be my preferred travel M.O.
I thought I recognized "guitar" in the phrase, kinda like "gee-tah"?? That's how they say it in the US south, too!
BTW, while I'm updating my pages(ronsarea.com) this week I creatively acquired your "Melvis and I" pic (he's soooo funny) for temp use, is that okay? LOL, I suppose I should ask *before* I do such things !!

hahahaha Thanks for asking but you are free to grab the photos I post!
Oh a CRUISE to Hong Kong/China - how lovely! I'd love to take a long cruise one day. It always blows me away that only 70 years ago people travelled for 4 weeks by ship to get from here to the UK.....
hahahaha I just had a peek at your site - Melvis is certainly colourful!!!!!

Y'know, Chris, I think the time that the trip took was probably helpful as a "transistion period". People were usually going to a whole new life and probably made good use of the time for reflection.
And speaking of things coming & going from HK, I just got a great package of "stuff" from there in the post!
How cool! I'm enjoying it sooo much! Thanks so much - y'all are majorly sweet people! BTW, thanks to Sharon for the packing - my cat (DaBaby) has a plastic fetish and took immediate possession of it while I hopped & bopped to the package contents! Getting that post really made my day (and beyond.) wheeeee! thanx again, Chris!!
