One of the cool things about the internet is that I get to read all kinds of newspapers from around the world. Before that really took off, I'd have to go to a public library to read them!
But THE place to use as a jumping off start-point is:
DRUDGE REPORT
It's just a simple one page summary of headlines run by Matt Drudge, who some folks think of as Republican - but he's actually Libertarian. (In US politics neither Republicans nor Democrats completely agree with Libertarians.)
A great plus is the page has a diversity of links to lots of other news sources.

Those are both good media outlets, Rev. But like some other news sources folks have mentioned here, they also have their own editorial "slant". (And there's nothing wrong with that at all.)
But I think it's helpful to check out a variety of news sources.
Otherwise folks who feed only on either a left or right slant sometimes tend to just self-indoctrination or re-enforcement of an existing viewpoint.
Though I would say Fox News (foxnews.com) is a good choice. It too has it's slant, but they do strive for balance. Kinda "Here's the good news and here's the bad news".
I think that's partly why - when Fox News came on the scene - CNN dropped to a constantly sagging 2nd place in viewership. Most folks have a sense of fairness that CNN didn't/doesn't take into account.

In the words of Steven Colbert,
Fox news gives us Both sides of the story
the presidents side AND the vice presidents side....
