Actually that's not a bad idea...get Kevin Spacey to play Drooly...I think there's more resembelance than with Pacino. Or maybe it's the baseball cap?

...perhaps Drácula (1931?)
Hey, that's one of my faves, MadvikinS - along with the other 2 Universal Studios 1930s great horror movies, Frankenstein and The Mummy!
What didn't you like about this movie, then?
Quote: this movie has a great deal of cult status in Sweden too; and yes...we all like to dream about that simpler life...
Cool. About the only thing like a "cult" Swedish film that I have is "Jag är nyfiken - en film i gult" - från 1967, jag tror (it's another one of my fave films). Otherwise, for Sverige, it's just some Ingmar Bergman (of course) on my video shelf .

Oh no, I`m a great fan of all the old ones, but this is the "Spanish version" (Drácula , remember).
Drácula
-I even have Nosferatu in my collection (although the whole film might never ber recovered)

...Börje Ahstedt is one of my Swedish favorites. Lena Nyman too. Bergman...hmm...perhaps I`m the child here...that shouts " Look! the Emperor is naked.."

DOH! I thought your " á " was just a typo, lol! I've never seen that version. You know they filmed the Spanish version at the same time as the English version, the Spanish version used the same sets at night that were used during the day by the Bela Lugosi/english version.
"Nosferatu" - silent version - is one of the scariest vampire films ever. Very creepy to watch if one is alone!

haha! - Well, I think Bergman is probably the only Swedish director's name that Americans would recognize because he is so well known.
I know more about French (especially new wave) directors & movies than I do of Swedish directors and svensk films.
"I Am Curious (gul)" was a big deal in the late 1960s in the US because it had nudity and "sexual content" - not very much by today's standards though! The courts had to rule on wether it could be shown here or not! lol. But it is a very interesting film and of course Lena Nyman was in it.

The best ever for lines & quotes is Casablanca, followed closely by another Bogart film, The Maltese Falcon.
=======
Funny quote from "Casablanca" -
"I've often speculated why you don't return to America. Did you abscond with the church funds? Did you run off with a senator's wife? I like to think that you killed a man. It's the romantic in me."
- "It's a combination of all three."
- "What in heaven's name brought you to Casablanca?"
- "My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters."
- "The waters? What waters? We're in the desert."
- "I was misinformed."
========
Chris, you should never ask film buffs about their opinions on movies !! hahaha
Especially on a day when it's stormy and a film buff can't be online too long at a sitting!
