I am especially proud of this tune. It's under 3:30 which is an accomplishment for me. I am time challenged. I also think it is very coverable by either gender and any age.

Randy and I banged it out in a couple of hours and it's simple and too the point.

I would like to write more like this.

You are a sweetie for checking it out.

Thanks,

Ted :yo

I enjoyed it Ted! Funny how we all approach songwriting in different ways!! I don't have trouble keeping songs short! I write a lot of songs UNDER 3 minutes!! :laugh

I like to jam and experiment musically when I am playing, that's why I usually have long fades so I can have fun at the end. I also seem to have trouble getting my thoughts down to the simplest sentance. It is a skill that I still need to work on.

You write great songs Chris.

Wow! That's a huge compliment coming from you Ted! I consider I'm getting better all the time. I LOVE collaborating. I find it much easier to write lyrics but every now and then I have a gem of a song where I write lyrics AND music. I still think my best songs are collaborations though :banana

...it brings both writers strengths together.

Randy is more the traditionalis, and has more of a POP sensibility when we write. I am the rule breaker, the blues rock guy who is a bit more on the cutting edge side of things. When we combine our efforts we often get much more interesting, results. Seperately we tend to be a bit off the deep end a bit. Not to say our solo efforts aren't good but our collaborations are better IMHO.

You are a great writer Chris and don't let anyone tell ya different....:boink

Quote:
Bouncy new wave style. Very, very good use of title to create a strong lyrical hook. Very nice use of musical hooks throughout this song. Sections separated very well and their distinct roles brings a power to this song that propels it forward. Engaging and captivating lyrics that are delivered with a passion that makes the narrator instantly believable. There is no bitterness just a stance that it's not about you, its about me. This song could act as supportive for any relationship breakup or resigning from a hated job. Lyrically, this track is outstanding and should act as a role model for anyone leaving either a job, relationship, parent or any where else where you are not being heard! Very nice guitar work. Dual guitar leads and back and forth play in the musical interlude work very well together.

Sometimes the stars are alligned and all is right with the world......

It's funny how each person has a different take. I have gotten a lot of negitive reviews on the same track.
