it's so sad
i always find shrews dead also often, :/ it's really difficult to see an alive one.
well i'm not so fond of carnival, it's not something that i particularly miss, specially the one in santa cruz because it's too huge and too crazy, but for the rest, i miss the place and i see you've become a lover of the island

Pris, I have been reading up on that type of shrew (Crocidura canariensis) and its not supposed to be found in the south and only in the Santa Cruz area in the north according to sites that say it is found here. That big book I bought says Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the islets. I have read that it lives in the deserts so I think there are maybe a lot more about that people haven't found. I have written to a shrew expert in Austria.
I am probably writing to Arona council to suggest a nature reserve here in Las Galletas. There are pools on the wasteland by the beach that hold water for months and there are dragon and damselflies, a species of rush growing all over the place and some type of wader, probably a plover there. I have been doing a lot of wandering about on the malpais/deserts and coasts here and am finding all sorts of fascinating plants and animals.
I loved the carnaval and was in the main procession dancing along in my wizard robe! I met a Goth DJ and model called Charly too and he lives in Puerto and I am going to be seeing him again soon. Charly looks as darkly flamboyant as Marilyn Manson.
Sunday I am going to the end of carnaval in Los Gigantes.
