I have just got involved with One World Beat which in the past has been supported by Tenerife acts like the Lizard Kings and I thought I would spread the word in case anyone here wants to help. Here's the basic info:

After the successful events in 2003 and 2004, with thousands of musicians united to make a difference, we are now preparing next year's event. We already have concerts in preparation in England, United States, Canada, Australia, Thailand, Japan, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Poland and many more countries. Musicians and volunteers are joining us every week. One World Beat united artists in over 150 events in 40 countries.

Our team of coordinators is working on our worldwide communication campaign and we have some exciting projects in preperation - web radio, collaborations with schools, a documentary, new partnerships and more. Artists like Phil Collins, Mark King from Level 42, Michelle Gayle, Europ, Sheena Easton, The Cardigans, Westlife and hundreds of local bands are officially supporting One World Beat.

Join the One World Beat Festival 2005 as an artist:

Participation is easy - all you need to do is stage/perform a concert in your local town on the first weekend of spring 2005 (March 18-27). We will then list you on the official website with your artist and event information (photos, links, text), giving you additional exposure to music fans worldwide. We are asking all musicians to donate part (at least 50%) or more to the official One World Beat help project.

Together we will raise funds and awareness to help street kids and vulnerable children to get an education - "Give A Child A Chance".
