I love it.
Montreal has a fair sized Chinese community, and I have some business dealings with some of them.
And I love certain things they do to show respect. A simple nod of the head at the end or start of a conversation shows so much decency...... Looking you straight in the eye. Not ignoring your Business card....
Don't you love that stuff?

Hmmmm. Makes me wonder about the word "orient"...as in "properly oriented".

things are oriental, people are asian. so respect would be a thing i guess, but at the same time an attribute of a person. soi'm guessing the master is right, it'd be asian respect.

"Oriental" was the term used long before "Asian" became the politically correct term. Not many people still use the word "Oriental". Some take offense at the use of the term "Oriental"...though I'm not really sure why.

Well...
I guess my point is that I adore the respect that Asians seem to show each other in their Daily dealings with each other.
Even Europeans seem polite, compared to us rude, brash North Americans...
That makes me wonder......
And honestly? I don't like my rude, abrasive North American persona.
But I'm unsure about the sincerity of false politeness...
Does anyone know what I mean?
