I was leaving my DJ job, about a week after 9/11 happened.
My housemate had been drinking at the club, and we were heading towards my car when my housemate started saying he'd drive. He was drunk, I said no, and there was all this going back and forth. I was telling him, "Just get into the f****** car!", when a passing Iranian and his friend, both drunk, started picking on my American accent. I'd never seen him before, and tried to ignore him.
He became more aggressive and menacing, and was carrying on with a bunch of Anti-American stuff. He wouldn't let us leave.
I was really angry at this point, and took a step toward him with my finger pointed at him. He did some sort of martial arts kick in my chest and broke the ribs on my left side. I just dropped to the ground, and shortly thereafter, was in hospital.
He was never caught or charged, so I guess you could say he won.
Now if anyone asks where I'm from, I say Canada.
