IC-Meeting live music videos now available in top quality

In case you liked and downloaded already some or all live performance videos of the 2nd. IC-Musicmedia.com Independent Artists Meeting which happened last September here in Frankfurt/Germany, you may consider re-downloading the file/s of your choice below again.



The videos have all been re-encoded with a way better encoder than before and offer significant better sound and picture quality.



All files are in *.wmv format, require Windows Media Player or Winamp and will play the best when being downloaded on your HD first. Streaming may be very wacky and not much fun. Dial-Up users... please don't try that at home , we talk video here in a rather good quality and the files will need a few minutes using broadband, but hours or all night using a dial-up connection.

Your laptop can't handle the bitrate of the high quality version



Usual Laptop displays also are not delivering proper video playback, this has to do with the so called "response time" of the LCD's, the same phenomenon you will experience with external 'high response time' flatpanel displays.



Sorry man, try the medium-quality file instead!



BTW... unfortunately Priscilla was mainly filmed with the 'spare' analog Hi-8 camera, not with DV-cameras like the rest of the videos

That was it.





The bitrate was too much for my laptop to process.



I'm due for a higher-powered computer.



I've been on this laptop for 2 1/2 years...







I'll download the "medium-quality" file, and see how that goes....

Mike.. - you're saying it's not my processor, but the response time of the LCD display on my laptop?





That makes sense, actually....



LCDs are notoriously slow...



If I run the video outs of my laptop into my television, do you think it would display better?

I downloaded Priscilla's "But If You Go"....



It only took about 4 minutes, which is not bad, for a 48 MB file..(I have a cable connection..)





I watched/heard it with Windows Media Player 10.





The audio was excellent, but the video was pixellated, and would freeze at certain points.



It was playing at 4870 kbps... - which seems like VERY high quality. - Maybe my processor can't handle that?



My laptop has a 1 GHz AMD Duron processor..





I think the problem may be with Windows Media Player 10, which is still rather new.



I'll downgrade back to WMP9, and see how it works with that...

Just tried the "medium quality" version.





It's still slightly pixellated, but it doesn't freeze.





Works much better than the bigger file.





But now I know that the problem is with my LCD monitor...







And the audio is still exquisite...
