you betcha chris. i recently finished The Search for the Panchen Lama (thoroughly depressing!) and have continued my reading and research on tibetan iconography in thangka paintings (much more inspirational). i just can't get enough of studying those things.

Hmmmmmmmm...

Interesting topic...

Chris - that list of titles you're reading seems to indicate to me that you're searching for answers.....

Isn't it fascinating how much you can learn about a person by knowing which books they read?

When I visit friends, I'm often drawn to their bookshelves...- just to look at the titles...

When I was in my teens, I read literally hundreds of those "searching for answers" books....

Now? - I prefer reading fiction, fantasy, and drama....

I also enjoy History textbooks...

I must've read every zenish, taoist, and other searching books I got my hands on in my teens, but if you come and look at my book shelves, they're fully of all kinds of books. At one time went I through every single horror/thriller - King, lustbader... then it was mysteries - Rendell, PD James, Christie, you name em... I love wodehouse, sharpe... you'll pretty much find stuff from fairy stories and fantasy to politics and philosophy, but like Drooly I prefer lighter stuff these days, and simply won't go near Stephen King type thingys any more. Its been while since I read a good murder mystery, but I still love em.

I read a lot of political history and commentary too... ahahahahaha :grab

Well.... I just finished a book called "Something Dangerous" by Patrick Redmond. That's the title of it in the USA (and Canada perhaps?) but in the UK it is called "The Wishing Game." It was very good. Not sure why it has two names.

I read all kinds of things, Drooly. Fiction and non-fiction. I prefer my fiction to have fantasy elements (be it scary like vampires or sci-fi)... As for the nonfiction I like to learn. So I might read anything from a science book about the universe to something more mundane like keeping house.

I believe if I had to choose, my favorite author is C.S. Lewis. He wrote fantasy and science fiction (one of his closest friends was Tolkien).... and he wrote theological books too.

Who are some of your favorite authors? :)

He's pretty cool too. You'll find him on my bookshelf too :D . Absolutely love Tolkien. Have you read the Hogfather series?

I love the animal guys too, James Herriott, Gerald Durrell...

Wow this thread exploded whilst I was sleeping!!!! :laugh Great!! Shauna, C.S. Lewis? I totally agree! I do like fiction; I've read new authors & old ones. Never read any of the Lord of the Rings, have read all Harry Potters....

I just prefer non-fiction to fiction at the moment.

It's cause I need a beach holiday!! When I'm on the beach, I can read a fictional novel a day!!! :banana

PAUL! hahahaha I used to read Maxim, FHM - both UK and USA versions (my bro bought them!) but got bored with them in the last year. It's a great formula and I might read one on the beach!

So Funny Feeling, that book does sound interesting!

Jorn - I've heard a lot about the Da Vinci code. Let us know what you think of the book! And yeah I just ordered a bunch of books from amazon too....

Jake, I've not heard of Neil Gaiman, what's the book about?

So Drooly, you got a specific book you're reading at the moment? :banana
