Is on its way and I am going to try and get some local news coverage. I managed this a few years back when I got on HTV Wales Xmas news with the first Welsh pineapple! ;)

I also have a bumper crop of kiwi fruit in my garden!

Very cool, Bard...

That's funny, because about a month ago, on a lark, I planted the top of a pineapple I had eaten.

It didn't work so well, as shown below...

How DOES one grow a pineapple? Can they be grown indoors?

Hi Chris! :) Yes, it does need a lot of space but then it's a heavy fruit! ;)

Hi Drooly! :) I think it needed more water. The coleus are doing well though! :)

Yes, in our cold northerly lands it needs to be grown indoors! Try again and good luck! :)

Coleus must be the easiest plant in the world to grow. I have tons of variety of it. It's a weed for me!! :laugh

Sounds like you are very green-fingered too, Chris! ;) Or in the case of Coleus perhaps it should be multi-colored fingered? LOL

BTW, the South Wales Echo are doing a story on my pineapple! Woohoo! :)

Hmmmm... - I'm jealous, Bard...

If I owned some arable land, I would definitely have a garden happening.

But I live in a hi-rise apartment..("flat" for Europeans...)

None the less, I do have some tomatoes growing on my balcony that look like they might make it to maturity..

They look good to me, Drooly! You have the green-fingered touch for sure! ;)

And don't be jealous cos when I move from here I will have to leave it all behind and take whatever comes my way which could be an apartment! LOL

Your tomatoes look great Drooly!! I only have green fingers for plants that are EASY (in this climate) so have Frangipani trees, banana trees - so easy to grow. Coleus is so easy and simple to brighten up any garden, I was so pleased to discover it!! hahahahahaha Actually I haven't done any proper gardening since SARS happened here last year. (I had six weeks off work....) In fact all the gardens on this island all were vastly improved during that period as people finally had time to garden....
