thank you everybody! i appreciate the birthday greetings for my 41st!
paul- you've got more important things on your mind than my bday my friend. don't even begin to worry about me.
chris- yep, an old "farm". i say that because beth and i bought a place we planned on farming and living on back in 1990, and we progressed nicely with our plans for it for several years. we were to have many plantings of things and build a little house for us and live there as close to "off the grid" as possible. one thing led to another though and we never built there and had a kid or two along the way and now plans have changed and we live in town. for several years though we planted there. a few hundred pine trees for a christmas tree area, several fruit trees for a fruit orchard area, many many flowers, three large herb beds (one medicinal and two culinary), and two BIGASS vegetable gardens. one vegetable garden was approx. 60x300 and the other was 60x60. i mostly had to tend everything by myself as beth had a few things happening at the time relating to kid complications, and as i say, one thing led to another and to make a long story short, the place is now for our recreation and really it's better that way. it's a little painful for me as the family farm was my life's dream, but i console myself by knowing it will still happen, just not now. i see myself quitting my JOB on a certain date when the kids will be out of school and then starting up the family farm again and living out my dreamlife. beth will have a massage studio, i'll have my glass and music studio and we can work the farm together and live right.
