I met Carren in February of 1977. She was 14, but lied, saying she was 16. I was 19. We dated some, but I went on the road six months later. I toured the US and Canada for three years, 10 months on, 2 months off. After my third tour, we married in October, 1980 and went on tour together for four years before taking a year off. We got an apartment, a car and jobs. After a year, we said "screw it" and went back on the road for three more years, before settling in our hometown. In 1989, we were able to buy our first home. In 1992, my son Devin was born, then Carley came along in 1994. Since then, we've moved two more times and changed jobs five times. This October, we'll celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. Sure, there have been very rocky times (hey, I'm a rock n' roll musician) but we made it through. Divorce has never been an option. I believe that we always be married, long after the kids are grown and gone. Life has thrown us many curve balls over the years. We know how suddenly things can change. We don't make too many plans for the future, but hope and pray for the best.

Well, she did a lot of shopping. We got to see all of North America a few times over. Where ever we went, we paid the bucks to see all the sights and eat at the best restaurants. I made good money on the road, but we spent it all having a good time. I don't consider it being pissed away. We were making incredible memories in those days.
