We're recording there next month...

I think it's a pretty good place.....

It's called Studio Piccolo.....

Celine Dion records there.....

We've done some minor stuff there before, but now we have the budget to really have some fun.....

Plus?

The Cappuccino there is to Die for.....

Try a couple of AKG414s beneath the piano in stereo (at high and low registers)...and no closer than one foot to the soundboard. It works when most other methods are hit and miss.

Dunno, Dream....

I don't know a lot about the fine details of capturing pure natural sound....

I think you know more about that than I do....

But that's why I want to record in a proper studio... - They have all the equipment, and knowledge, and expertise, to capture the real sound....

That will free us to concentrate on the Music...

When I record, I don't want to know about levels, mics, faders, levels, or anything technical....

To me, a good Studio will just let us Play... - and record us naturally...

ack.....

But I really do respect how much effort, expertise, talent, and Money it takes to do that.....

But when I'm playing? - I don't wanna know...

Ya know...?

Ha.

To get Brian to sound like Celine would require some aggressive hormone therapy, I think..... maybe even some delicate surgery......:)

That's only one room. The studio is huge.

It's the best Montreal has to offer.....

We'll start with one track. Other things are contingent on how well that goes.....

Whatever you do, make sure the sound it right from the start. So often the first take is the best, and to find the sound wrong in one instrument and have to do it over is a major drag on the event.

That said, I think I have the most fun in the studio. It's where you can really make some magic happen with reverb and the like. Always tough to duplicate that magic live, though. :frankie
