unfortunately no chris. i have this pesky debilitating fear of travel that keeps me in my hometown here. didn't used to be that way and i happily visited germany (my ancestral homeland) and switzerland and much of the united states many years ago before it struck. now i'm a homebody...

just for curiosity, as a promoter, do you pay for him to come to HK and put him up while he's there or are you just responsible for his bookings while he's there?

OK - I understand what you're saying Bud. No I'm more of a booking agent PLUS. I found him an accommodation sponsor and my company (Shazza Music) is sponsoring their employment visa and I've done a bunch of other stuff. They've paid for their own airflights.

PEOPLE HERE LIKE THE BLUES! hahaha I only book top-calibre musicians. You reckon you got what it takes? :b

Probably the same amount Drooly! We all knew covering expenses was the #1 criteria.

What have they achieved?

They've got sales at HMV, money from gigs, radio interviews, radio airplay, TV appearance, new contacts, new fans and experience from playing here. Aaron is already talking about coming back next year and touring Asia; not just HK. He plans to come back yearly and build his fanbase. I only have connections in Philippines, Japan and Singapore so that's probably the other 3 places he'll add on for 2005. His bass player (from LA) is considering moving here as he's a session jazz bass player and has fallen in love with HK!!

Drooly, I'm sure you know that the first time you tour a city, you are lucky to breakeven, it's usually the return trips that you make money on (if you're good that is!) as people recognise your name & showmanship. woooooooohoooooo

Congratulations on what appears to be a very successful venture, Babe. :thumb

Well, if they can cover expenses, from Texas to Hong Kong, I would call that a successful venture.

Ok - I really wanna hear this guy now...

I'm gonna go install RealPlayer to have a listen.....

If you give me a few days Drooly, I'll grab the interview from the radio last week and you can hear a track from the CD plus Aaron singing and playing an acoustic number.

Thank you Seismic!!! Woooooooooohoooooooooo I feel a holiday coming soon though!! I ended up being a booking agent and promoter rolled into one!! hahahahhaa :banana

No stress, Chris..

I installed RealPlayer, and listened....

"Hurricane" is an incredibly sensitive song.... - very well written...and he sings it from the Heart - that's evident..

I have reservations about the instrumental performance, though... - it sounds a bit stilted, or "staccato".....I'd rather hear a more "legato" rendition....

(That's just my personal taste...)

But I really like the song, and his vocal...
