I'm working on a song that I think could use some female vocals. I don't really have a melody of theme in mind. But I think lyrics in a language other than English would be most appropriate. And some harmonies.

Here's the music so far -- it's about a 5MB download:

Unfinished Song

I still need to add some guitars -- probably some really heavy crunch for the accents and an acoustic melody line.

I don't know what recording capabilities ya'll have. It would be best for me if you could supply a recording of just the vocals as a WAV or hi-bitrate mp3.

Anyway, if you're not into it that's cool too.

Let me know if you want to do this thang.

Theo, I don't know any other language besides English... Thank you for asking :blush

I would be interesting to see what the completed sound is like - that will affect the vocal character, and perhaps lyrics too. Right now it definitely has a Chinese feel to it.

OOPS! Hmmmmm......

Maybe Chris could do a verse in Cantonese and you could do one in English, then some sort of combination or harmony bit for the end.....

I was actually thinking the vocals would influence the guitar parts. :)

ask some friends to make up some repetitive stuff in Hindi... heh. My theory is, if you can pronounce it, you can sing it... :D

guitar affects vox or vox affects guitars... :wgrin chicken and egg... hahahahahaha

That sounds cool to me.

Maybe even combine several repetitive layers of vox in different languages.

Like something along the lines of "why can't we all just live in peace?"

OMG! Tower of Babble, or cacophony!

Or we could use it to block out other sounds... you may have a market there Theo! Ever heard of white noise?

hahaha! Yeah I know white noise. Not quite what I had in mind. :)

I was thinking more of a melody and counter melodies. You ever heard "I Like to Rock" by April WIne? They had 3 guitar riffs going at once: Satisfaction, Day Tripper and the main riff from their song all intertwined. I was thinking something like that with vox.

Too weird? Never stopped me before. :)

Just bouncing ideas around.

I was saying, I think I know what you mean, different languages woven in and out of each other, same tune repeated?

Sounds pretty cool. hmmmm gotta think on that one, what would fit the sound.

cheers

Yes, yes. Or English. Or a mix. Whatever you feel like.
