Hi there, just to update anybody who's interested.
The deal with the indie label is done, the artwork for our album 'Arctic Circles' has been re-designed and the master is being prepared to send to the pressing plant.
The all-pro backing band is rehearsed, we've done 4 shakedown gigs since last November (still a bit shaky, but getting there LOL) and the proper promo starts in May with a spot at Newcastle's Fish Quay Festival followed by an album re-launch gig. If anyone from Northern England is looking in, here's the festival line-up:
Monday 31st May 2004
12 noon Caffrey Brothers
1:15pm Gladstone
2:15pm Ryofu
3:15pm Steve Gilroy Band
4:15pm Cuban Salsa - Carameloson
5:15pm The Questionnaires
6:15pm John Miller and the Country Casuals
7:15pm Paul Young and Los Pacaminos
(Americana, Tex-Mex, Mariachi, Norteno and Alternative Country led by one
of Britain's finest singers)
We also have a new website with a 'Singles Shop' selling downloads:
THE QUESTIONNAIRES' NEW WEBSITE
If anyone's thinking of grabbing a single or an album, do so now 'coz the label will be hiking up the prices in June.
thanks muchly
Steve H

.... and I enjoyed that classical-style stuff you did on the banjo. Nice idea, and it works!

Cool - I imagine that's somewhat a regional equivalent of a US "Lollapalooza" gig, Steve?

.... for the good wishes, Debbie. Nice to see you again, I haven't been around much lately, been very busy.
Ron, yes in a way. The Fish Quay Festival has been going for years now. It's Europe's biggest free festival, (see www.amber-online.com/html/fishing_pack.html ), it attracts thousands and it has hosted some big names in the past, although it's a bit more 'rootsy' and less mainstream-commercial than the Lollapalooza thing, by the looks of it. It takes place on the actual working North Shields Fish Quay in Newcastle, and you can smell the fried fish and kippers for miles on festival day.

.... well, I've never eaten that, Debbie, but Craster kippers from Northumberland are fantastic. They're so good they export them all over the world.
That's right, Helen, THE Paul Young is the headline act. He's doing country-influenced stuff now, should be good.
Hey Chris, have a nice time in Australia! My daughter has been there for the past 6 months or so. She's packing bananas in Cairns at the moment, trying to save for a flight back to Sydney. She'll be back in England late July, starting university in October. Really missing her now.
Paul, don't drink gin and tonic at the FQF, they'll think you're from Jesmond ......
