My good deed for the day

About a month ago, my 10-year-old neighbor asked me to teach him guitar, so I gave a beat up old acoustic I had laying around. Then he asked me fi I could teach him "metal". So, I got him hooked on the electric guitar.

Saturday, I took him to Guitar Center and bought him a Fender Squier Bullet.

Made one little boy very very happy.

Thanx fellas. The kid's got real talent. At the rate he's going, he'll be shredding by the time he's 12. BTW, my mistake -- he's only 9. Even the sales guy at Guitar Center commented on his playing.

Saturday, he must've played that axe 4 or 5 hours on and off.

I promised him we'd record a song for his birthday this fall.

That's a good choice, as a guitar for a 10-year old just starting out......

It's not too expensive, but it covers the basics quite well, and plays nicely...

Only $99, and the neck is nice & straight.

I also adjusted the truss rod for him so the action is pretty decent. And if he's still playing it next year? I'll get him a DiMarzio JB stacked humbucker for the bridge position! :evil
