Do people have taste or is this screwed????

While I loudly complained recently here about my dead

Soundclick sites (0 plays to 18 plays per month), I checked

several other sites I'm on for the stats. I don't do that every

day, so I was quite shocked when I checked my stats at

my Ampcast-site



What did I found? Not only a rather nice amount of plays and downloads,

but a total phenomenon which happened with "Unscripted (live)", a live-recording

with the mikeburn and friends band.



The stats show that roughly 100 people listened to the track, but

555 downloads!!!!!



I mean this is crazy, not? 5 times more downloads than listens

and I did not promote the site/track at all and it is totally buried

on my page there (over 50 songs).



So what's that? LOL Sometimes it is really surprising to check stats!

Obviously Ampcast is a lively site and people are downloading like crazy!





(I "shrinked" the stats screenshot, that it fits on a normal screen,

so half of the songs are not displayed)

YMD got occasional play on KTAO solar powered radio...

(the worlds most powerfull solar powered radio station)

it was featured on the listenup show once...

and there were several calls asking about it...during the show and after.





but....No one has ever mentioned AMPCAST on the show..



IC-Musicmedia and Artistlaunch.com were the two sites that were recomended by name on the "Indie Music show' two weeks ago..



hmmm...



there is a strange ebb and flow in the OMD world..

some of it real, some of it artificial...

it's hard to know whats going on..

I opened my site up there on Jan. 15th this year; here are the 3 month stats...







I have 2 songs available for free download and 8 of them are for sale - free download disabled...yet my stats show ALL of the songs have free downloads credited to them...looks screwed to me.



It would be nice to think the plays are correct, but I have my doubts.

actually seriously I'd forgotten about ampcast as an OMD! There are so many of them these days....



And Seismic - that sounds a bit odd, so I guess maybe Mike B is right and there is something 'screwed' about the system.

Believe it or not, it is the "Dancing With Angels" collab I did

with Randy and Sabrina from UnSub two years ago.



Over 1,000 downloads at Ampcast, not only "plays"!
