Oh well, yesterday I got my copy of SONY Music's "The Best Of Dream Dance" - DVD.

As ar as I'm informed this DVD will be also available for non-European customers within this week (i.e. Amazon.com / Import).

The artist list includeds:

...but way more important, also

I am an independent artist, btw. the only one where

the homepage URL is displayed on the DVD.

SONY did want to have this track and video, but I didn't

sign away my life, never will and my track is also still available

for download. So what?

His track and music overall is as well still available for download where it belongs to

BTW.... did you hear that Bassic aka. Martin Lindhe signed a "record deal" (dunno which label) and announced that his

tracks will not be available online anymore?

You know, this is what I call forgetting where you come from

and showing no backbone at all. Imagine he sells no records

or only a few.... so his music will be gone forever or what?

....for a few lousy bucks, IF any?

I think Mike that it's indirect 'boasting' and 'stupidity'. Record companies want new tracks anyway - not tracks that have been available for free on Internet for years. There's no gain for the record company to promote old tracks - unless the artist is already famous or has a good sales-track record. Maybe he has a good sales record?

Anyway that's his business and we shall resume to come back to celebrating the newest SONY DVD which has some truly great artists!! wheeeeeeeeeeeee :lana

So something is obviously wrong with your theory

Sorry Mike - not my theory - I'm not a record company - major or indie. :wgrin

This was what was told to me by BMG and another label that was interested in one of Shazza's artists a couple of years ago. As a music publisher, every now and then I have to speak to major labels and their lawyers - as I imagine you do too.....

And of course Mike Burn's Starship Bobota is on a par with Beethoven. :bcool
