Hong Kong and Mississippi both have Humid Subtropical climates...exactly alike for the most part, just on opposite sides of the World...

HK is 22 degrees, 15 minutes North Latitude, Meridian MS is 32 degrees, 33 minutes North Latitude...but HK is surrounded greatly by water so the hydrologic effect cools it a bit...

Humidity can get a guitar anyplace where it gets how/humid, SA !

I found that out when I set aside a 12 string (don't remember the make) in a closet during one summer. I just forgot to tune down the strigs to complete slack.

Went back to it after a couple of months, tuned it up right - but after the first three frets, it was off. So I could just play chords & notes within those first 3 frets. Unloaded it at a pawn shop and so I got some bucks for it. Now it's a religious routine for me to loosen the strings on every stringed instrument if it's going to be set aside and unused for more than a few days!

Humidity can do some horrible things to the neck! Of course, there is some fun in guessing just where the octave has relocated to on each string in such a case :)

hahahaha.................!

dooft.............!

here's the best thing to do..:

___________________________________________________________________________

1.Immerse your bass in a bathtub full of Vaseline and powdered bat-wings.

2.Circle around it while hopping up and down to Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll", and rubbing sand in your Hair.

3. Call 9-1-1.

___________________________________________________________________________

If the above procedure fails? Take the bass to a guitar repair shop.

Trust me. I have experience in these matters.

Now.

Eat your Pizza.

A truss rod adjustment should correct for all but the most severe warpage. Any good guitar repair shop should be able to do it fairly cheap. I just did one last night on a friend's bass.
