A while back you gave me a link to the VIA web site for my recording prob.... I am still trying to get my gear working..... not much success tho

I have downloaded the driver for the chipset and when I go to set it up I get this message......

" VIA AC97 Audio chipset is not enabled on this sysyem ! Please enable it first on the BIOS then run this set up again."

:eek

. ....

should I leave it and call an expert in or can I do it??

Oh well......

...in case you already made successful changes in the BIOS settings in the past... hold down the DEL or F10 key while booting to enter the BIOS setup (some Computers display other key codes for entering the BIOS during startup) and check for your Chipset features ("Advanced", sometimes also under "Peripherals").

If you are NOT familiar with BIOS settings, I only can recommend to get some qualified help. You may make your Computer unusable by changing settings you do not or only partially understand.

In this case I simply would take the computer (only the main unit without keyboard, mouse and monitor

of course) and bring it to a little Computershop.

No serious service provider should charge you more than 20 english pounds, to make your PC-sound-setup work.
