Against Article 23 - Anti Subversion Law.

There were kids, walking, in prams… there were folks in wheelchairs (but none had casts hehe)

Don’t know what this guy was doing – he had a red flag and kept yelling something.

It was blisteringly hot. I had my trusty gym bottle with me… :D

These two guys kept yelling “Freedom Freedom” and getting the crowd going. It was great!

I was sooooooooo proud of HK!

Not a very popular man, is our Tung! hehehehe

Thanks Drooly and Rod.

All in all a wonderful day! My first protest march, and it felt goooooooood! Although the heat was scorching, the spirit of camaraderie was wonderful and everyone was smiling at each other and yelling stuff. Someone in front would shout and then people along the line would pick it up and yell, so it had a kind of domino effect.

Estimations are that the turnout was 400000 strong. For hong kong, population of about 7 million that's HUGE. I hope that folks here get into the swing of things, cause there's a number of times they've let the govt get away with crap.

Now the govt is saying that the reason for the turnout was (1) the issue was politicised and (2) it was a public holiday and this was an "activity" for people...

Lets see what happens tomorrow.

Kick some ass?? Yeah! :yeah

Hong Kong is not a democracy. We do have some strange kind of election system, but the gov. (Tung) is handpicked by China.... And how he's handpicking his cabinet....

dum dum diddy diddy dum dum.

I dont think they'll be so stupid as to mess with HK's laisez faire system though. And China is moving very quickly towards an open economy so lets see.

The govt is very :toc

The finance secretary bought himself a new car JUST before announcing a MASSIVE hike in car taxes . What a hoo ha that created, but Tung refused to accept his resignation and he's still in office. He claimed it was an oversight. I dont know what is worse, a finance secretary who doesnt seem to know what day it is, or a corrupt git in charge of HK's finances. Either way he's incompetent or corrupt, or both, and shouldnt be in office, but he still is....

dum dum diddy diddy dum dum. Fun and games....

Yeah, I'm off to bed now. I got back about 8ish from the march, then dashed off to watch William Tang at the Fringe. It was BRILLIANT. John French (our bassist) plays with William. Ahhhhhhh what a pleasure to watch such consumate musicians. Never a dull moment - kind of blues/rock. Very very cool. It was William's last performance in HK before he moves over to the UK. Two delightful sets.

So just got back. yawwwwwwwwwwwwn. work tomorrow. eeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Cheers

If they do, they would show how truly ignorant they are (but what government basically isn't??)....HK is the Butter on the Bread, so to speak, at least IMO.

Okay, that's my political commentary for the rest of the year....shutting up now while the getting is good!! :lol
