What is the one segment of time that stands out the most vividly in your mind where LISTENING to music was involved...not PLAYING it, but LISTENING to it....whether it was at a concert or on the bus or in your car or at home or while on a trip...whatever...that one piece of history you will NEVER forget...enhanced by the music you were listening to...and what was that song/tape/CD??
I'll give you mine after some of you post...if you want to post...should have some interesting stories here...

Great question Seismic!
Does this count? Kim (SOS) and I were sitting at my house years ago chatting. Suddenly I jumped up - pointed at the stereo and I couldn't speak! Kim said "What? That's just Distance (a SOS song) and I said 'That's not a CD - that's the RADIO!" She suddenly clicked and we were like 2 looneys jumping up and down POINTING at the radio screaming & laughing "We're on the radio! We're on the radio!" hahahahahahahaha That was the first time I heard my music/vocals on the radio. hahahahahahahahahaha
I'm desperately trying to think of something else that was a vivid musical moment - the only things that come to mind are slushy romantic stuff and I dont' want to post that!

My GOD, Clif...that had to be devastating..I can sure understand why it would be #1 on your list...

Drooly...I've been there and done that for sure..."Madman Across the Water" was my favorite EJ album....I think it was his second.....hit after hit after hit....Tiny Dancer, Levon, Madman Across The Water, Rotten Peaches, and my two MOST favorite...Holiday Inn and Razor Face (reminds me of my Dad)....
Razor Face
Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin
"Has anybody here seen Razor Face
I heard he's back looking for a place to lay down
Must be getting on
Needs a man who's young to walk him round
Needs a man who's young to walk him round
Oh it must be hard for the likes of you to get by
In a world that you just can't see through
And it looks so cold
How does it feel to know you can't go home
How does it feel to know you can't go home
Come on Razor Face my old friend
I'll meet you down by the truck stop inn
With a bottle of booze in the back of my car
You're a song on the lips of an aging star
Razor Face, oh amazing grace
Protects you like a glove
And I'll never learn the reason why
I love your Razor Face."
Holiday Inn
Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin
"Boston at last and the plane's touching down
Our hostess is handing the hot towels around
From a terminal gate to a black limousine
It's a ten minute ride to the Holiday Inn
Boredom's a pastime that one soon acquired
Where you get to the stage where you're not even tired

Wierd - "Stay Free" by the Clash reminds me of my dad. We used to play cards together every evening and he would let me turn my stereo up and "Stay Free" i used to sing loudly then cut out during the rude words ... hahahahaha. Great song though.
p.s. is that Goldberg? Please say no cos I don't wanna know anything about WWF, or WWE, or IRA, or TCP, or whatever the logo is now
