Mike, in the next few days I'll look at Emagic Rocket-Software.

I have a very fast broadband connection, and a fast processor. (albeit PC, not Mac..)

I'm almost on top of my recording software and hardware now... all I need is a good mic (thinking Nuemann), mic pre-amp, and DI boxes for guitar and bass.

Maybe we could have some fun..

There exists the so called "Rocket Network" by Emagic,

which allows you to do simultaneous recordings over various physical locations, i.e. the bed-track comes from Germany

, the singer sings in L.A. and the bass player grooves in South-Africa. Just at the same time as you would be in one studio. The connection-software cares about the line delays and such, but of course all parties involved need to have the Emagic Rocket-Software/Client and a really fast connection (155MBit).

So this was no option here

...and Debbie....

I will simply send Phil the whole bed-track now as it has developed, that he can lay over a new main vocal line and I think this will be fine then, because he actually can sing

Thanks for all the input everybody. this si the 1st time that I ever tried a project of this complexity. I have never recorded via computer before. I laid these tracks down in a recording studio. I knew my vocals were off but didn't worry because I thought Kate was going to sing on those parts. Mike explained the problems to me and I have learned a lot form this experience.

Guess we learn from mistakes and hopefull do better next time. :stress

Yeah I found Phils guitar slightly down tuned.... However I kept the bass as normal thru the tuner?... hope it did not cause too much hassle mike?....

I would love to hear it but it must have been taken down

Yes it is a trully a wonderful thing that people can record from their houses and people can listen to it all over the planet. :gl

Who would have thought been possible a few years ago.

You have all done a great job on this project.

This is a great project everyone, and little mistakes are made.

Thinking about this further I have decided to ask GMM to include this song in the next Comp CD, so we can have time to do the song properly. The music is all there. Now we just need to re-do the Vocals. I believe that the song is definetly worth taking more time and effort. :yo
