I just gave my very first guitar lesson....

Ahhhh..... it just popped in my mind, that my parents (after realizing I would prefer guitar over school any time ) forced me to at least visit a local music school. Nothing like Berkley, just a small town music school.



Oh well... they fired me after the second day, because I would not be talented enough and boycotting any approach they made to teach me basic music scoring/reading.



For me this little episode is just extreme funny, because I shared the same class and destiny with Jaro, the drummer of my band since more than 20 years

While the ability to sight-read can be very useful, it has absolutely NO effect on a person's ability to play with soul and passion.



That ability is partly born in a person, and partly acquired through life experiences....



There is no "school" that can teach soul and passion.



I think too much theory can destroy the humanity in music..
