Best get crackin' on the MSc, lol!! it reeks of work to me!!! Eww!
Y'know, for my money, I think the simplest and most effective way to stream sound (.SWF) is by using a program called "Soundnails". It converts MP3 to swf and generates the html for a player - the whole ball of wax. I'll drop you a note at your website mail addy on it to see whacha think.
There are a few other good simple progs that just convert mp3 to swf - I hate cranking up Macromedia Director to do simple tasks, hahaa!

thanks Drooly!
Phil, our name was sponsored by Carlsberg really... we were sitting around (and almost coming to fisticuffs over it) trying to settle on a name - dark sand was the ONLY name all of us would agree on (from a list of close to HUNDRED), when a friend of ours said to imagine a crowd chanting the band name over and over - what would work. Well somehow dark sand didnt work with the chant, dark sand dark sand dark sand... so we sat glumly until Colin's girlfriend came up with the Mandarin name. Its pronounced like Asia with a H sound, so easy to remember. Hei-sha, Hei-sha, Hei-sha... hahahaha
Unfortunately some idiot tied it in with Geisha, and the next time he met me he said, say, when is "Sheila" playing next...
takes all kinds
PS: Dont know what my culture is, been confused about that all my life

Phil, you're right, for some reason the window in internet explore is called the Bandits... I've changed that reference and it wont go away - must be cached somewhere in cyberspace. Bother.
Anyway, check out the new website background:
www.heisha.net
These are Colins guitars (he has 20 yes - he's a SERIOUS guitar man, you should hear him play), laid one across the other on a carpet. I did some photoshopping, and voila!
Cheers

thanks very much for that commentary. I think I would agree on the busy background. I will be checking it out from different computers.
on the photos, course you are right about 48th, our first gig with Harold and John, hahaha, but that page was an experiment in thumbnails - which is not entirely satisfactory, as the pics open in a new browser. I will be messing around with it in the coming week.
Individual photos?? I have plenty of me, but need to get some of the boys. I will wait till we have more of a balance of photos.
Hopefully with the rest of the gigs lined up we can get some decent shots of all of us in action.
Talk to ya soon.
xx
