<If Pris wasn't pretty would there be any promo of her>
Interesting question, Phil - I'm really only familiar with the name from a fellow reviewer's critique of her at Demorama.com Sept. 2002 reviews. He thought she was too Tori Amos-ish. She was not pleased with the reviewer's perception, but in a thoughtful Email to Demorama was a very good sport about it. I really don't know her music enough to make my own judgment, but she does seems like a sweet & intelligent person and that is a big plus as she goes along along her musical path!

Of course one can hide the physical. Pris with her hair pulled back, a pair of glasses, a non-descript dress, a grim serious look would definetly be a different image.

She does have a fine voice, DM, and is surely easy on the eyes. I think the song might work a bit better video composition-wise with her playing piano as opposed to the solo stand-up delivery, though.

DROOLY
you're posting that video everywhere isn't it
LOL, yes, the demorama thing, i'¡m the worst of the worst lol, but well, people compares people to others, I honestly can say i didn't know Tori then, i know her music now, still not my cup of tea, but anyway LOL
Mike YES, LOL SOME CRAPPY ONES, LOL dying to replace the files LOL (what about flame talking about this LOL (btw, i sent you a letter )) with a good coffee recipe MIke)
Phil, it really hurts me that you think people listen to my music because they think i'm attractive. Basic to the point, it really means YOU DON'T LIKE MY MUSIC. But well, you're free to give your honest opinion, and that really doesn't upset me and i do know you do try to help with information when i ask about technical things and other doubts. But the fact you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not good enough to deserve attention.
MOST OF THE FANMAILS I GET are from girls ( and i do really doubt they're lesbians you know), pagan communities, people from rolegames, and they like it.
Also i've submitted my music to tsn of review things in internet (the file) and besides the demorama one, and one review of flame, the rest of them have been ALWAYS VERY POSITIVE. And i have a folder with up to 200 serious reviews done so far (not boards reviews but more in depth reviews like gom like). That encouraged me to go on making music, not the fact you think i make cool banners and such.
People can visit me the first time cos they found my picture appealing ok, but don't have to stream THE ENTIRE PAGE, OR COMING BACK TO STREAM IT. One thing is the visits to my site, other the plays I get, and I am actually happy because I know from people that not only liked but have put my songwritting (even people that doesn't like my genre) and lyrics among their favs.
WE ALL HAVE PEOPLE THAT LIKES OUR MUSIC, MUSICAL TASTES ARE DEVERSE
the fact you think people only pay attention to me because of my looks, is not nly unfair, but untrue, and even more, I know it CERTAINLY ENOUGH not to feel discouraged about making music.
I don't have or use a sexy aggresive look and I don't mean to.
Had also tons of plays from role games platformos and other fantasy sites that ALREADY WERE USED TO ME AS AN ILLUSTRATOR.
AND
well
all i can say
is
my page is there:
mp3.com/priscilla_hernandez
i have some new recordigns, i don't ahve a band but me and my keyboard, i don't know of software, or editing, my old recordings are hissing and sound awful, and i've improved a lot the last year to make worthier things to be listened.
Phil I do understand your position,
but
1) I'm not so impressive to move masses to my page with my looks
2) my music is not so terrible to make people not listening to my music if they like the topic of the lyrics
LOL
AND THANKS FRO THE PROMO BY THE WAY
lolo

of course it would be better another video composition
this is a tve program live performance in a culture program and such, in fact i insisted to perform, i was supposed to speak aobut internet music
and PHil
i don't have to feel ashamed of who I am and how i look
some people think I'm pretty , others not
my hair... well i know people that dislikes it, others that doesn't
but as drooly says, why do i have to hide myself?
you think it helps, welcome be, but at the end what matters is MY MUSIC, I am not a model, and i don't put a gun on anyone's head to listen to it
the fact that you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not worthy, or that people only listen to it because of my looks. That i have given to it an overall image of fairtylales and such that gives consisntence, why not? I SONGWRITE ABOUT MYTHS AND LEGENDS, and others will dress grunge, and others will dress in black gothic,
but I don't feel ashamed or who I am
BY THE WAY,
if i were fat?
I've been fat before, and i have to tell you, that i don't feel more or less pretty cos of it, i am honestly happy i'm not so thick now, but that's been a very superficial comment, i think I've shown more from me and myself and the way I am, and the way I think, and the way i feel and experiment music, than my hair or face, it seems that you're just blinded to all the rest, PHil, but that doesn't mean it has less importance for others.
i just wanted to write this here, because this is not the first time you post this kind of comments, sometimes it means like says
PRIS IS NOT DOING THIS BY HER OWN MERITS?
AINT' i?
and no, I'm not in a hurry, i've been offered to be SIGNED three times so far, and the three times I've said no because they wanted me to make other genres, or cover other music that wasn't mine, and that kind of things.
I am not angry or upset, and I really RESPECT your opinion, but don't generalize and venture to say things that you just don't know, everytime you post this you get replies that says, no, some of us don't do it because of that. Phil, it is just doesn't fair, and you SEEM TO HAVE A PREJUDICE AGAINST ME JUST BECAUSE THE WAY I AM. That's not only unfair but very superficial. I think you're an excellent musician and you have your OWN STYLE PREFERENCES, ok I cover a style of music that is not your cup of tea, world is BIG ENOUGH TO DISPLAY A GREAT VARIETY OF TASTES.
to add more my last feature was at stlgothic.com
go and check what a WOMAN WROTE about my music,
and she also emailed me and signed my guestbook to tell me how importand and nice it was for her to discover my music.
IF IT ONLY FOR HER, it would be worthy to go and believe it worths all the effort, but thanks god, i have also a few others.

Very well said, Priscilla. I believe Phil really is reading something into your work that isn't at all there. And regarding images, he's missing the fact that you are a graphic artist. It would be strange if you didn't make use of those abilities to compliment the musical body of work.
best wishes and much success to you!
Ron
