oooooooo I'm a biiiiiiggggg fan of Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon. Apart from what they stand for, their faces have so much character. Same goes for Martina Navratilova. But back to topic...

Yeah Seismic, there are many movies that are total let downs.

Has anyone ever seen from Dusk Till Dawn??? I'd like to hear reviews, and then I'll share mine ;)

Chris, I grew up on PG Wodehouse, so when I discovered Tom Sharpe (a latter day, very very rude Wodehouse) I read all I could get a hold of. Love stuff that has plot within plot within plot, and is hilarious to boot.

Anyway, gotta retire now, so g'nite all, I have early gym tomorrer.

From Dusk till Dawn - what an excellent film - hahaha - Even though I was told it was a 'vampire' film before watching it - hahahaha - So I sat there waiting for the vampires - hahahaha - it never helps to be told the twist before you see the film - whoops - I haven't spoilt it for anyone have I?!?!?! That dance that Salma Hayek did on the table is WOW! That's the BEST part of the film! The second best part is realising that Quentin Tarantino can't act - hahahaha

The movie I'm waiting for is "The Return of the King" (Part III of The Lord of the Rings). I remember wishing years ago that a movie would be made that does the books justice. Although I beleive the movies fall far short of the books, I think it would have been difficult in this day and age to do much better. (To do the first book justice, the movie would have to have been 6 hours long or more!)

I am so waiting for Return of the King too.

For me the star of 2 Towers was Gollum in the film. Brilliant.

Yes, I didnt expect the move to do the book justice - there are a few "adjustments" here and there, but the feel has been captured I think.

Panick, I will be buying this book. It sounds like an important book for our times.

Chris Hedges has been a war reporter for the past 15 years, most recently for The New York Times. His book, War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning, is one of the most striking analyses and critiques of what happens to people and societies as they go to war to be published in many years.

Writing with a clarity and tone reminiscent of Albert Camus, Hedges unravels the myths and dysfunctional nationalism that grip nations heading to war; the intoxicating effect of these causes and rhetoric; and the terrible costs that soldiers, victims and societies pay -- when the realities of war -- not the rhetoric -- are experienced. He spoke to TomPaine.com's Steven Rosenfeld. The first segment of a two-part interview follows.

Awesome book. I like The Dark Tower series the best of all of Stephen King's books, though. That series is a masterwork, Roland is the best character he's ever come up with. The fifth book will be out later this year, should be great. :)

I hope it will be out soon. But as usual the Germans have to wait a year longer. Your right Jake - Roland is the best character of SK. To me he's kind of a melting pot for many other characters from other stories. (Ralph Roberts, Ben Mears & Jim Gardener) "See if you can find the stories!"

:) :) :)

Debbie!

Yes, do get this book!...

it's not an easy read...but it matters...

so little of what's being written these days really matters...

It's an astounding thing this book, written in a very personal way...it hurts to read it, but you come out of it a better person.
