Wildlife

Seems like the international community is very well-represented here, might be interesting to see what kind of wild animals live around the people who post on this board.

Here's what we've got in Ohio :

There are only about 30 of these guys in all of Ohio.

This is a bobcat, used to be lots of them here but they're pretty rare now. They weight around 10 kilograms/22 pounds.

Lots of deer in Ohio, you have to watch for them when you are driving, especially the autumn. I've never hit one, but I've come close.

There are squirrels everywhere here. There have been three or four times when I've almost stepped on one when I was walking out the door in the morning.

I saw two wild turkeys come through my Mom's yard a few years ago. They're really big birds, come up to your waist.

This is a river otter. Pretty rare, I've never seen one in the wild.

These are raccoons, very common (not as common as squirrels, but close). Lots of times they're in the driveway hanging out when you come home at night.

That's enough Ohio animals, let's see some of the wildlife where you live.

JAKE! What a great idea! We don't have much wildlife here in Hong Kong

Too small. I'll dig out some photos of the monkeys we have in the New Territories (one made the headlines last year when it boarded the 'Star Ferry'!!)

well - These are only found here in Canada...

It's an endangered species called a "hobomutt".

Hey Jake you forgot Skunks and Bats. I have no photos. Well I have a Bat photo but it's framed and hanging around. I can find skunks in my neighborhood and a couple weeks ago a Bat in my house.
