They do, but a soul is as a balance or a scoreboard. Without the knowledge of good and evil, the score will always remain 0-0. As babies mature and learn the differences between good and evil, they gain the power to add to either side of the scoreboard. Assuming that human nature is basically good, anyone (or creature) that can commit evil acts indescriminately is questionable as to the possesion of a soul....hence the reference to cats.

Please don't take this as a challenge or threat.....it's just my experience.

I'm on thin ice here, but my personal belief is that God tally's the score (in a manner of speaking) on your soul, and this may play a factor in what your rewards are in heaven. Acceptance is not an issue....God accepts everyone. Babies, having a 0-0 score, obviously fall into a different category....I don't pretend to understand it all. Admitance to heaven has only one requirement....but we're getting off topic.
