Actually Chris, when the "Sterling30" thing began, one thing that was at atthe top of the agenda was about a 90 minute video/movie that I wanted to do. We were going to occupy one of the old theaters in the area for a few days and I wanted to do about 25 songs or so live, with a few interesting things thrown into the mix.. (It was going to be done in Black & White too but I was the only person interested in doing it so it didn't quite happen.. (The interest is there now, it's just that I'm not interested at the moment..)

Maybe something will come up in the future.. This one studio I've used in the past has a stage and lighting in the facilities and all the editing equipment needed so we could get a professional one done there but starting costs is about $2500..., not to mention other musicians, reheardsal, ect..

Music just instn't that interesting anymore Chris.. Some moments it still drives me but they don't last too long.. (You never know though..)

OH! Music isn't 'that' interesting anymore? What is your passion at the moment? It sounds like you have a strong creative streak in you. How do you satisfy it?

I can't live without music. I have noticed that if you're doing TOO much other stuff, music isn't as enjoyable. I live to perform, followed closely by writing & composing. I also LOVE listening to music. What music do you like to listen to?

As far as my listening pleasure goes, Bod Dylan is always a favorite as is a number of indie people such as Kathy Fisher, Queenie, Rachel Innes, Cheryl Bliss, Phoebe Legere, Simona Peron, to name a few.. (I'm going to have to give SOS a better listen sometime too, seems your sound is in that league.., I suggest you give all those people I named a listen sometime..)

No, music has never been that big of a deal to me for much of my life. In my younger years it was a passion but I grew out of that I guess. It was really fun about 5 years back but it just isn't anymore..

Recording's a pain Chris.. My singer Dwight is really cool but outside of himself and me, everyone else that ends up involving themselves get to be a bit much at times and I'm just tired of it..

There's going to be a few things done in the coming months with Dwight, (I'd say look fro a 4-5 song EP by Jan I think you'll like alot and then there's some sessions coming up with some female singer, though I'm not really sure who that will be yet, and that should produce 2-4 new songs about Feb or so and then that's it Chris.., I'm done.

I don't like performing, never really had much inclination for that but I think it's cool that you enjoy it. I like the studio part most when I'm in control and people do what they are paid to do. All other aspects of the music business I prefer to have no part of.

It just isn't my cup of tea.

I've seen Phoebe Legere at the Fringe Club here in HK, she's great! Very sexy lady! I've also seen Bob Dylan in concert :D

So you're more a studio guy - that's cool. There's a lot of creativity and soul that comes from dedicated recordings. It sounds like you still have some musical stuff up your sleeve :banana

What will you do for creativity when it's 'done'? Just curious.

And you make yourself sound really old, are you?!?!?!

I don't feel old Chris, and many people tell me I don't look old either, but it was an issue when I started recording again, not to me, but the people like producers, ect., who just seemed to have this attitude I had no right to be doing this because I was 40 at the time, and it sure didn't make them happy when they found out I could actually do this.. (And that attitude is very prevelant..)

Where will I be putting my creative energy? Maybe in business Chris.. I've got some background in marketing and I know alot of influential people. What I have in mind is trying to find a way for the more marketable indies to start seeing a real return on their music and bringing to a larger audiance that spends money, and that won't happen on the internet.. (It's going to be next to impossible to pull off because we're talking of a really large deal, but I always like trying the impossible..) It's a million to one longshot at the moment but if it could happen, alot of indies could start seeing some real revenue coming their way.. It sure won't be easy though, and I've got some homework to do..

So you saw Phoebe? She was performing in Chicago this spring and I was thinking of going to see her but I couldn't work it into my schedule. It's been awhile since I've been to NYC and she plays there all the time so maybe around the first if the year I'll get a chance to see her.. (I won't ket her know I'm there though..)

I've seen Dylan 4 times BTW and it be 5 times soon.. He's plaing in Ann Arbor this coming November..

hahahahha No 46 isn't old - 121 is old :D And you don't look like you're in your 40s to me.

Well it sounds like you have some business ideas under your hat - I wish you much success. And hope your team is as inspired as you are. I actually like business too.

Yeah around 6 years ago. I was most impressed with Phoebe's performance. She's got stage presence for sure.

Well Dylan has only played ONCE in HK so I made sure I was there. Someone reminded me yesterday that I also saw Eric Clapton in the same venue.

What's the best gig you ever went to?

That's a good question Chris... I used to love straight up, no nonsense Rock & Roll shows and I would never miss Alvin Lee & 10 Years After when they came too town. I remember Rod Stewart & The Faces putting on a great show, I saw David Bowie a few times and he was great as well.. Robin Trower was always a favorite and I did see "The Who" when Keith Moon was still alove, and I've never witnessed an energy greater than that.., 80,000 people at the Pontiac Silverdome..)

But who's the best?? I'd have to say Paul McCartney cause I'm such a huge Beatles fan and the vibe he puts off at his shows is really very unique.. (He's touring now Chris.., if you get a chance to see himm make sure you do, he won't be around forever..)

The last Bob Dylan show was fantastic also... That's a tough question Chris, I've seen alot of great acts but that was mostelt from my first few years out of high school. In the last 22 years I saw Bob Dylan in 1986, Paul McCartney in 1992 & Dylan again in 2000..

I see a few local acts every now and then but most are pretty sad... Just h these worn out covers from the 70's.. Ugh..

I don't think Paul McCartney is heading this way... Many big names don't bother coming to HK :(

One of the best concerts I went to was in England - Madonna - yeah I know she's not rock but it was a highly entertaining night. I enjoy listening to lots of different types of music. Music with energy. Music with passion. I really like smaller clubs where you can see the performers do their thing. That's usually OUTSIDE of Hong Kong.

The best concert I saw in Hong Kong was a triple-billed event with Foo Fighters, Sonic Youth & Beastie Boys. It was fantastic esp. cause I just got into the Foo Fighters & I've always like the Beastie Boys :D I was dancing for three hours - hahahhahaa Sonic Youth aren't my cup of tea though - so I went off for smokes during half their set....

There aren't many exciting bands here, I'm considered exciting here for heaven's sake! hahahaha Just cause I've got tattoos, play guitar and touch myself on stage. hahahaha OK I do more than that but I want to see other bands with creative sparks!
