A couple of new programs were installed on my computer today and now when I try to open Photoshop - it doesn't open completely.

I tried to delete the new programs but then the control panel stalled...... One program appears deleted. After rebooting, I tried to open the control panel again but it wouldn't open!!! achhhhhhhhh!!!!! grrrrrrrrr!

I really really need to get photoshop working :(

If any one can give me some advice, I would be so so grateful.......

Chris

No I don't have that. I let ZoneAlarm run instead of turning it off and it identified the program that I tried to remove earlier which stalled the computer. Grrrrr - I just updated my anti-virus and may scan the computer soon. I've been rebooting seven times so far...........

You mean you deleted the programs or you uninstalled them. Big difference.

You may have to go into safe mode to sort this out.

I tried to uninstall the program and that's when Windows (98) seized up. I use Photoshop 4 but have the software for 6 at the office - can I upgrade that?

I can't open up the control panel without my whole computer stalling........

How do I get into safe mode?

Would you like a different Underblurb?

Let me check.

The blurbs fine :)

Yeah you should be able to upgade to PS6 with no problems (assuming it's within your PCs capabilities - which I'm sure it will be).

Get into Safe Mode by hitting F12 as your PC is booting up. I'm sure it's F12, if not then F6, no, definately F12 :)

This gives you a menu of start up options, choose safe mode and in you go.

I'd be surprised if you can't get into the Control Panel via safe mode..............

Hey, thanks for the offer PR! But I'd have to fly from here in England to do it. Who knows, maybe I will :)

But I might ask you a few questions about bikes in the future though. I'm a novice.
