Okay, I have been talking about this for about a week, and now we are ready to start this big bad boy up.
Introducing MP 3.5 Top 20!
This is an independent chart site that is just getting started, and we need some songs to start off our lists. On the website, there are five 'main genres' that will each be ranked from 1 to 20. The genres supported are: Rock/Pop, Alternative, Electronica, Gospel, and Other. For the time being, these will be the only genres. When we get enough songs onto the charts, we will further subdivide these into more specific types.
Okay, so what makes this different than mp3.com's charts? Well, first of all, we don't rank our charts on CD sales, Plays, Stations, or anything like that. In fact, we don't rate the songs at all. YOU do. The songs on the list will be reviewed by other artists and given a grade. The grades/reviews determine the charts.
When the website is up and going, there will be a 'fee' to add one of your songs to the charts. What's the fee? Just review some songs (not sure on the final number yet), and you get one added to the list. Sound simple enough? Well, for now, it gets even better.
Right now, we need songs to fill out our lists for people to listen to and review. So.. for a short time, I will be accepting songs without reviews. Just send an email to bren@moonpoint.com and include these things:
- Name of the group/artist
- Name of the song
- Where this song can be found (remember, it should be where it is able to be listened to for free)
- What genre you would like it in (Rock/Pop, Alternative, Electronica, Gospel, or Other)
To answer some vague notions...
"Other" means anything that doesn't fit into the other genres.
You can submit a song that is not your own, if you wish.
A pre-opening limit of two songs per artist is allowed. Later on, after the site opens for reviewing, this number will rise.
